A First Look at the Nike Chapuka Sneaker From New York Fashion Week

The encroachment of sneaker culture into the fashion world has been an emerging trend over the past few seasons, and the catwalk has recently been the space where sneaker silhouettes have made their global debut. Such was the case at Wednesday's Rochambeau Spring 2017 presentation at New York Fashion Week: Men's, where models paired their Moroccan-inspired caftans with a curious Nike runner. The shoe has since been identified as the Chapuka, a mostly forgotten silhouette originally released in 2001.
