Volata has designed what is essentially a smart bike for commuters, featuring an integrated 2.4-inch LCD TFT display built into the aluminum stem. The screen pairs with your Android device or iPhone and offers weather, navigation and heart rate, as well as music and incoming notifications. It also delivers stats like maximum and average speed, along with the time and distance of your trip, and it also doubles as an anti-theft device: when in sleep mode, vibration sensors will trigger the horn and flash the lights if it's picked up, and an embedded GPS chip lets you track the bike with your phone. The display is powered by a 10,000 mAh battery that gets charged by a dynamo in the front wheel, and there are LEDs on the fork and top tube. The bike itself features a carbon fiber fork, hydraulic disc brakes, and Shimano Alfine Di2 electronic shifting. The Volata is priced at $3,499. You can configure and reserve yours now through volatacycles.com.
