Derrick Rose is officially a New York Knickerbocker now, but he'll always be a Chicago native, something that adidas Basketball celebrates with the new D Rose 7. Specifically, the design is inspired by the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, and the city's resilience as it subsequently rose from the ashes. Not only do the shoe's lines reflect the fluid yet unpredictable motion of fire, but there's also a flame-inspired TPU shank, and the four stars on the heel cage honor the Chicago flag. In terms of performance, the Primeknit-infused D Rose 7 is the first installment in the franchise to feature full-length BOOST. There's also a hinged mid-foot lacing panel that attaches to a split heel cage and GEOFIT molded collar, delivering stability, lockdown and sock-like fit.
Retailing for $160, the adidas D Rose 7 launches August 11 in Solar Red. Additional colors drop throughout the season, including Smoke Gray (August 13), Hydration (September 16), Black/White/Red (October 1) and White/Black/Red (October 15).
