Thanks to Russell Westbrook, we knew that the launch of the Air Jordan 31 would be accompanied by the return of the OG "Banned" colorway of the Air Jordan 1. Jordan Brand has made it official, releasing new images of the shoe that started it all. By now the backstory has become common knowledge in sneaker lore (the black and red colorway violated the NBA's uniform policy, meaning MJ was fined $5,000 each time he wore the shoe during games), adding to the mystique surrounding the iconic sneaker. The kicks launch in stores on September 3rd, the same day that the Air Jordan 31 drops.
