We all know that the next iteration of Apple's iPhone will launch sometime in September. Now, we have the actual release date, thanks to a series of tweets by VentureBeat's Evan Blass. He states that pre-orders for the device will begin on September 9th, with Friday, September 16th, designated as the actual launch date. Based on past timelines, that should place the preceding Apple announcement on either the 5th or the 6th. Additionally, iOS 10 should become available on the 15th, ahead of the iPhone 7 landing on store shelves on the 16th.

As for the latest rumors surrounding the iPhone 7, we can probably expect a mostly unchanged model in terms of size and shape (though it could be marginally slimmer). The traditional 3.5mm headphone jack is probably history, especially in light of leaked images showing a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter. There are also whispers of a new "Deep Blue" color, along with water resistance, new antenna lines and a dual camera setup for the 7 Plus. Stay tuned.
