adidas Is Awarding Its Olympic Winners With 3D-Printed Sneakers
Olympic glory in sneaker form
It's not just glory and hardware that adidas-sponsored athletes are winning in Rio. A select group will be rewarded with 3D-printed running shoes, featuring a lightweight and breathable Primeknit upper atop a midsole made with a 3D engineered web structure, tailor made specifically for the unique contours of each athlete's foot. The shoe will also come with laces accented with gold, silver or bronze threads, reflecting the athlete's level of achievement.
Also check out a first look at a black and gold adidas NMD runner releasing in 2017, as well as a trio of Ultra Boosts with gold, silver and broze accents.
