Last October, adidas unveiled the future of performance footwear, the Futurecraft, showcasing a 3D-printed midsole that's essentially a carbon copy of the wearer's foot. Since then, we've seen the shoe materialize at the Rio Olympics, with a black-clad version of the shoe being awarded to a selection of adidas-sponsored medal winners. The question now is, when will the rest of us have the opportunity to lace up a pair? The nameless shoe (Futurecraft actually refers to the 3D printing technology) has been popping up on social media, appearing on the feet of adidas personnel and friends and family, so the time may be sooner than later.
