Today finds adidas unveiling the first product to emerge from its innovative SPEEDFACTORY facility in Ansbach, Germany: the adidas Futurecraft M.F.G. (Made for Germany), representing the first example of performance footwear made to meet the specific fit and functional needs of the consumer through a high-speed process. The shoe utilizes ARAMIS technology to understand the precise movements of a runner's foot in motion, resulting in the conventional 3-stripe cage and heel counter being replaced with a series of patches, strategically placed across different parts of the shoe for the best possible support. In addition to a Primeknit upper and energy-returning Boost, the outsole is fitted with a new Torsion bar for enhanced flexibility. adidas plans to use the Futurecraft M.F.G. as a test run, with an eye toward rolling out more silhouettes in additional sports categories.
