In conjunction with the launch of EA Sports' FIFA 17, the brand has joined forces with Nike on a limited-edition Mercurial Superfly. The boot's design highlights the progression from the 16-bit graphics of the game's '94 origins to today’s high-definition capabilities. The medial side is done up in a coarsely pixelated finish, while the lateral side is rendered in sharp HD. Additional details include the EA Sports' logo at the sockliner, lace and heel, as well as a golden thread running through the laces and an iridescent plate underneath. In game, the virtual boot will be available starting September 22 through the EA Sports Football Club Catalog (unlocked at level 7). The actual boot, limited to 1,500 pairs and individually numbered on the heel, will launch September 26 through the Nike Football App and Nike.com.
