Aside from the self-lacing Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, the sneaker that turned the most heads from Nike's Innovation Summit held in NYC earlier this year was the Nike VaporMax, representing what could be the final evolution of Nike's vaunted Air max line. The shoe's sole unit loses any extra rubber material found in previous iterations of Nike Air Max. There's no secondary rubber layer at all, but the innovative design allows one holistic VaporMax Air unit to maintain its given form. Originally announced as a 2017 launch, Wired, in its larger story about Nike's Innovation Kitchen, has revealed that the shoe will launch in 2016. Stay tuned.
