Even in the midst of Apple's resurgence, Steve Jobs didn't participate in many onstage interviews. He made an exception for the D: All Things Digital conference, created and produced by Recode co-founders Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg. That was the platform Jobs used in 2003 to posit that the smartphone would soon overtake all our lives. In 2007, he and longtime rival Bill Gates reminisced about the early days. On the fifth anniversary of his death, Recode compiled some of Steve Jobs' most memorable interviews from the conference, along with insight from Swisher and Mossberg themselves.
