New Gorillaz Album Will Reportedly Be Finished in "Two Weeks"

Good news for fans

Earlier this week, Gorillaz unveiled a new multimedia story starring animated band member Noodle, leading fans to believe that the highly anticipated new album was on the way. We've since gotten a progress update, thanks to a Reddit user who caught up with Gorillaz co-founder Damon Albarn. The vocalist reports that the album has yet to be completed, but he has disclosed that there's "two weeks left of recording and the album's finished."

As we await more dispatches from the studio, Gorillaz have embarked on a new non-musical venture, starring in a marketing campaign for Jaguar. Noodle has been named as the new "global ambassador" of Jaguar Racing, serving as the "flag-bearer for Jaguar's newly launched Formula E [electric car racing] team." In conjunction with the announcement, Jaguar released a new short film directed by Jamie Hewlett, starring Noodle behind the wheel of the Formula E race car.
