In mid-August, Rory McIlroy took to the Bahamas, where he wear tested the new Nike Lunar Control Vapor. The defining feature of the shoe is the new Articulated Integrated Traction outsole, inspired by the treads on snowmobiles. The system decouples the medial heel and lateral forefoot area, allowing for propulsion through the swing and better balance, all while keeping the golfer lower to the ground. Additionally, the unique TPU tread, made up of a protruding tooth-like tracks, allow for more points of contact for maximum traction. A waterproof microfiber upper, full-length Lunarlon midsole and Nike Flywire round out the details.

We're not saying it's just the shoe, but later in the summer, McIlroy would win the Deutsche Bank Championship and the Tour Championship, as well as the 2016 FedExCup.

The Nike Lunar Control Vapor launches first in limited colorways via the Nike+ App on November 22. Additional colorways follow on nike.com on November 25.
