The last time adidas and Parley for the Oceans joined forces, they created just 50 pairs of an innovative running shoe made in part with PET, commonly used on water bottles, and nylon from gill nets. For their latest collaborative project, the creative partners are set to launch a mass-production shoe -- the Ultra Boost Uncaged -- and soccer jerseys for Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Both the footwear and apparel are created with up-cycled marine plastic waste, recovered via Parley interception and clean-up operations in the coastal areas of the Maldives.

The Ultra Boost Uncaged Parley features a knitted upper constructed with 95 percent Ocean Plastic and 5 percent recycled polyester. Inspired by ocean waves, the design uses laces, heel cap base material, heel webbing, heel lining and sock-liner cover made with recycled materials.

The jerseys are created with Parley Ocean Plastic, up-cycled marine plastic debris, and water-based environmentally friendly prints. Bayern Munich will wear the all-red soccer jersey when it faces TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday, Nov. 5, while Real Madrid will wear their all-white jerseys when it plays Real Sporting de Gijón on Saturday, Nov. 26.

The Bayern Munich soccer jersey is available now at and select retailers. The Real Madrid jersey launches Thursday, November 24, at and select retailers.

Limited to 7,000 pairs, the Ultra Boost Uncaged Parley will be available to purchase in mid-November. Go to for more information.
