The North Face has brought its Moon Parka prototype and Japan collections to the U.S. for the first time. A collaboration between Spiber Inc. and The North Face Japan, the Moon Parka prototype is constructed from Spiber’s synthetic spider silk material -- dubbed QMONOS -- that features an almost unearthly glow, derived from the undyed color of the Golden Orb-weaver's silk. The "Moon Gold" hue, combined with black QMONOS embroidery to create an eye-catching effect, is used on a design inspired by The North Face Antarctica Parka. The Moon Parka will be on display at The North Face global flagship on 5th Avenue in New York City for a limited time beginning today.
Additionally, nearly 100 styles from Japan, including some from the Unlimited Collection, will be available exclusively at The North Face 5th Avenue store, as well as the Jackson Square store in San Francisco. Expect a full range of men's and women's apparel, including jackets and vests, tops and bottoms, equipment, footwear and accessories. Pieces from the Unlimited line, see in the gallery below, are divided into two concepts: one featuring a range of simple products suited for travelling, the other featuring silhouettes built to take on inclement weather in urban environments.
