Louisiana-based Sneaker Politics has cut the ribbon on a recently launched New Orleans location, and in honor of the event -- as well as the Mardi Gras celebration taking over the city at the end of the month -- the retailer is partnering with adidas Consortium to launch the Gazelle PK. The shoe's bold design is inspired by a Mardi Gras tradition, the King Cake, and the confection's various icing colors of purple, green, gold and white are all repeated on the shoe. Additional details include cream-colored premium suede overlays atop the Primeknit upper, along with a fleece-backed Primeknit tongue, leather lining and co-branded custom leather insoles. A gum rubber sole unit completes the look.
Retailing for $140, the kicks launch in-store at Sneaker Politics' Louisiana locations on February 18th. A general release through global Consortium accounts follows on March 4th.
