The Nike Kobe A.D. NXT Redefines the Mamba's Signature Line
Kobe Bryant has teamed up once again with Nike footwear designer and longtime collaborator Eric Avar to create the Nike Kobe A.D. NXT, a low-profile, highly responsive silhouette that's unlike any of the Mamba's previous models. The most obvious change is a new lacing system that naturally tightens based on what the food needs. It's integrated into the Flyknit upper, drawing the structure together to create a fluid system with a drop-in insole, one that houses a Zoom Air bag in the heel. In terms of aesthetics, the Flyknit upper features a subtle circular pattern inspired by a lotus flower, representing rebirth. There are also secret Kobe "codes," one on the lateral side that translates into "unhinge," another on the medial side conveying a message of "end and begin." Together, the symbology expresses the reawakening of the Kobe line.
Check out detailed looks in the gallery below, and expect the Nike Kobe A.D. NXT ($200) to launch globally on April 3 in both grey and volt colorways. Limited availability in North America begins on April 1.
