Tomorrow finds pro BMX athlete Nigel Sylvester launching a new pop-up art installation at Procell in New York City, featuring 218 Capucine, a BMX bike covered in Louis Vuitton's iconic monogram print. Made in conjunction with upholsterer and artist Daniel McRorie of Rickard Guy, the bike is intended as an ode to Louis Vuitton, a master craftsman who created one-of-a-kind travel trunks in a workshop on Rue Neuve des Capucines in 1850s Paris. The number 218, meanwhile, represents the home of Nigel's grandmother, where he first learned how to ride a bicycle in her driveway. The pop-up gallery for 218 Capucine at Procell will run from April 6 - 9.
