XTND, the electric skateboard from the company of the same name, is positioned to set itself apart from its competitors through its smartness. Built-in artificial intelligence collects data on the rider's style and habits, and subsequently creates unique settings tailor made for the user. For commuter purposes, the XTND can track rider movements and learn regular routes, and suggest alternatives with smoother terrain and less hill-climbing. (Something that will help in terms of battery life.) On the safety front, pressure sensors will lock the wheels until the rider is standing on it properly, and if there's an accidental dismount, the board will automatically hit the brakes. Additionally, the board can reduce "speed wobbles," and ambient light sensors will automatically activate when it gets dark. Weighing in at 6.6 lbs, the board has a range of 12.5 miles and an impressive top speed of 28 mph. Lean more at XTND's Kickstarter page.  via: juncture
