For Warriors fans, their team's 2nd NBA title in three years was just a matter of waiting. They'd known it was bound to happen since July 4, 2016, when news broke that Kevin Durant -- arguably the second best player in the league -- was signing with Golden State. So to some observers, last night was a coronation for KD, and something of an inevitability for the NBA's seasonal narrative: the Dubs had summarily dispatched LeBron James and the Cavs in a memorable Game 5 to bring the Larry O'Brien trophy back to Oakland. Last night as the celebration erupted on the floor of Oracle Arena, the broadcast cut to a minute-long Nike commercial in which a panel of basketball hot takers expounded on all the shortcomings of Kevin Durant's game, as well as his character. As the spot ably shows, championships have a way of quieting the noise.
