As we noted earlier, Daisuke Obana looked to an unexpected source as he put together his Spring/Summer 2018 runway show for N. Hoolywood. Backstage at his New York Fashion Week: Men's event, he discussed his surprise at how thoroughly politics took hold of the collective American consciousness during last year's election. With presidential politics on his mind, he chose to focus on a president that personally inspired him: John F. Kennedy. As a result, the overriding ethos that runs throughout the collection is a youthful, laid-back optimism, with a modern, sophisticated take on American prep.
