The mystique of Kobe Bryant endures even in post-retirement, and his latest Nike silhouette -- the new Kobe A.D. -- explores the aspect of his "Mamba Mentality" that explores the external factors that influence human behavior. In this particular instance, Nike and Kobe examine the psychology of color, as seen in the five distinct hues that finish the performance mid-top, featuring a multilayer upper with Lunarlon foam, Zoom Air cushioning and an engineered tread for optimal traction.

Each of the five colorways is meant to connect to an emotion or character trait: purple represents fearlessness, red symbolizes passion, yellow conveys optimism, grey stands in for detachment and blue signals honesty and trust.

All five colorways hit stores and nike.com on August 24, a nod to Kobe's uniform number.
