On September 24th, Eliud Kipchoge will run in the Berlin Marathon in attempt to break the world record time of 2:02:57. He'll do so in a custom version of Nike's Zoom Vaporfly Elite, adorned with a number of personal design details and featuring a carbon fiber plate tuned for Kipchoge's specific performance needs. Additional performance benefits include a lightweight Flyknit upper, Nike ZoomX foam for responsive cushioning, and a 21-mm forefoot stack height and 9-mm offset for reduced Achilles strain.
Just 99 pairs of the shoe will be available to Nike members in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom, who will be able to unlock access by completing a Just Do It Sunday run anytime on September 24 with the NRC app. Additionally, Nike members in Berlin will have a limited opportunity to purchase the shoe at the Nike Berlin Store on September 23.
