Blade Runner 2049, the highly anticipated sequel to Ridley Scott's visionary sci-film from 1982, finally hits theaters on October 6th. Director Denis Villeneuve tapped three of his favorite filmmakers to create a trilogy of short films intended to fill in the blanks between the original Blade Runner and its sequel. The latest installment, entitled Blade Runner Black Out 2022, is directed by Cowboy Bebop's Shinichiro Watanabe and scored by Flying Lotus. The setting takes place three years after the events of Blade Runner and tells the story of why a ban on the synthetic humans known as replicants was enacted.
