Since the inaugural release in 2003, the unveiling of a new Doernbecher Freestyle Collection has become a beloved Nike tradition. It's a concept that's hard to resist -- every year, a select group from the young patients at the OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital are given the opportunity to design their very own Nike sneakers, and in the 14 years since it began, the program has raised an astounding $17 million for the hospital.
For 2017, the Doernbecher Freestyle Collection features the following six silhouettes: the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski, Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit, Nike Air More Uptempo, Air Jordan 12 Retro, Nike Air Max Thea Flyknit and Nike Air Huarache Run Ultra. The kicks will be available beginning November 18th, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to benefit OHSU Doernbecher. Adult and youth sizes of the footwear will launch at Nike SNKRS, and the full apparel collection will launch at nike.com and select retailers.
