On December 1 in Chicago, Nike held a special celebration event in honor of the 35th anniversary of the Air Force 1. Nike AF-100 collaborators Virgil Abloh and Don C were joined by hundreds of Chicagoans at Joy District, where they enjoyed special performances by Travis Scott, Flat White and a bevy of local Chicago artists, including Mano, Chase B and HXLT.

The event was preceded the day before on Thursday, November 30th, with the launch of the AF-100 Gallery, a special 4-day pop up in Wicker Park presented by RSVP. In addition to the AF-100 collection, the exhibit featured hundreds of the most iconic AF1s over the years, including key Chicago-specific styles like the Air Force 1 Mid LE "Chi Town from 2002 and the Nike Lunar Force 1 "Fuse City Chicago" from the 2012 City Pack. Guests also enjoyed special DIY customization and personalization options as part of a Maker's Studio, as well as design workshops helping to inspire the next generation of creatives and students in Chicago.
