Nike has announced plans to open a new flagship store in New York City, a space covering more than 69,000 square feet at 650 Fifth Avenue at West 52nd Street. Here's what customers can expect: floors one through four will feature "a multi-sport assortment of product innovation and services," while the lower level will house Hyperlive, Nike's new small-format retail concept offering "a curated, data-driven assortment of local essential products, inspired by the sporting heartbeat of the city." Guests can also avail themselves to speed lockers for easy pick-ups and returns, as well as a sneaker bar for style advice. The fifth floor, a NikePlus members-only destination, will provide access to unique products, experiences and customization opportunities. Members can also enjoy Nike Expert sessions, a one-on-one appointment in which highly-trained Nike Experts deliver a personal shopping experience. NikePlus members will also be able to check available sizes when they scan a shoe using their phone's camera, and skip the line and purchase product through the Nike app.
The current Niketown New York store at 6 East 57th Street will close in Spring 2018. The new flagship will launch in early 2019.
