When Nike announced the expansion of the company's world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, the plans included the construction of the NYC Garage. The structure houses a total of six parking levels, each celebrating one of New York City's professional sports franchises, as well as a massive central courtyard built with basketball, futsal and handball courts. On the design front, the building is adorned with 17 murals, created by an international roster of artists from 10 different countries. The murals celebrate New York City's vast sport culture while representing a variety of different styles. Each of the 17 artists -- Stash, SP One, CHINO BYI, FAUST, Grotesk, Felipe Pantone, GOREY, DAIM, Tones One, Gary Stranger, Yoon Hyup, SPETO, Claw Money, Nardstar*, Paola Delfin, Hueman and Ashley Montagu -- take inspiration from hip hop and street basketball, while highlighting the global reach of graffiti, one of New York's great cultural exports. See their work in the gallery below.
