Upon their original release in the '80s, both the Nike Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 quickly transcended their original court purposes. The venerable silhouettes underwent countless revisions in subsequent decades, but both have been completely overhauled for this latest collection, The 1 Reimagined, predicated on the concept of shaking things up. Nike tapped a discrete group of internal designers to rethink the Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 for the first time, and the fourteen women were given free reign to create new articulations of the two footwear icons.

One of their only constraint was time, as the designers were given just two weeks, from brief to final design. Another guideline was a grouping of five personas that would act as design archetypes: explorer, lover, sage, rebel and jester. In the end, there were a total of 10 radical designs, confirming the overall concept behind the project: the genesis of creativity is diversity. Available in women's sizes and finished in a muted color palette, the kicks will be available February 7th through Nike SNKRS.
