With the Epic React Flyknit, Nike introduces a running shoe that offers it all: durability, a lightweight build, and enhanced cushioning for each stride, offering energy return through foam technology called Nike React. Significantly softer than EVA-based foams of the past, Nike React is a one piece foam unit that features wider construction to give runners a supportive base. It's also taller to avoid "bottoming-out," and delivers cushioning and support in the specific spots where it's needed during a run, while eliminating material where it's not necessary in order to keep weight to a minimum. Additionally, the outsole is essentially the same as the midsole, but with segments of rubber under the forefoot and heel for added traction and improved durability.
As for the upper, it's a one-piece Flyknit bootie that's sculpted at the forefoot, toe and arch. Inspired by the Nike Flyknit Racer, the Flyknit build is precision-engineered for support, flexibility and breathability.
