With this upcoming Air Jordan 9, Jordan Brand takes it back to 2003, when freshman prodigy Carmelo Anthony led Syracuse to its first national title, also while earning the tournament's Most Outstanding Player trophy with a 21-point performance. Personal touches include "Melo" printed on the sockliner, and Anthony's uniform number at Syracuse (15) in lieu of the traditional 23 embroidered on the heel. Additionally, the shoe's white leather build is accented by woodgrain paneling and metallic gold details -- decorative flourishes that give the nod to Melo's MOP trophy. Retailing for $190, the Air Jordan 9 "Melo" drops April 27th at Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
