It turns out a patchwork motif is a reoccurring theme for Vans this season. In addition to the "Satin Patchwork" pack, the SoCal brand is also releasing an indigo patchwork set made up of the Sk8-Hi and Authentic. Both classic silhouettes are done up in uppers constructed from various textile panels, resulting in a unique build inspired by the art of Japanese Boro and Sashiko stitching -- a practice from 19th century Japan in which garments were mended with available fabric scraps. The kicks are available now at Australian retailer Hype DC; a stateside release is presumably on the way.
