If the design of adidas' new UltraBOOST Mid Proto appears to be a bit off, it's purely intentional. According to the Three Stripes, the shoe is inspired by the "off-key and unpredictable world of early-stage prototypes and sneaker samples." That unfinished aesthetic is seen on the asymmetric details: the left shoe has a Neon Yellow Primeknit base accented with Collegiate Navy suede overlays and printed white 3-stripes, while the right shoe has Grey suede overlays with navy leather 3-stripes. Completing the unique look are a heavy sock-like collar, woven herringbone heel loop and the TPU heel stabilizer borrowed from the original UltraBOOST 1.0. The kicks are available now at global adidas Consortium accounts.
