Considering that Union owner Chris Gibbs has always worn Dickies, it's no surprise that his store's upcoming collaboration with the workwear label came about organically. "I met one of the dudes at Dickies and just started to volunteer some ideas cause I was so hyped on the brand," says Gibbs. "He then invited me to do a collection and the rest is history." The resulting capsule -- dubbed "Get Off My Dickies" -- makes use of Dickies' signature cotton/nylon fabrication, finished in unexpected hues like pink and off-white. Traditional silhouettes, like woven shirts and cut-off work pants, are refashioned in oversized and boxy cuts, giving off a "self-affirmation vibe" that recalls '90s fashion. The goods drop Saturday, June 2nd, at Union's L.A. and Tokyo locations, as well as online at unionlosangeles.com.
