Leica is Entering the Watch Business
Introducing the L1 and L2
Premium camera manufacturer Leica is set to launch its first line of watches, the simply named L1 and L2. True the brand's aesthetic, the made-in-Germany models feature a classic look, both using a 41mm stainless steel case and hand-wound movement with a 60-hour power reserve, developed exclusively for Leica by Lehmann Präzision GmbH. While the L1 features time, date and power reserve functions, the L2 will also feature a dual-time GMT function through a rotating internal bezel, as well as day/night indicator. Both are finished with a diamond-embossed black calf leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle. Pricing will reportedly start at around $11,800, with a launch date expected sometime this year.
