Nike's latest lifestyle runner takes the form of the EXP-X14, a shoe that borrows a page from the brand's past while showcasing a wholly contemporary look. The "EXP" in its name is short for "experiment," denoting how Nike Sportswear designers adapted performance running features into a lifestyle shoe, while X14 refers to the original internal code name for Nike React technology, found on the shoe's midsole cushioning. Underneath the translucent upper, which modernizes a silhouette based on the late '90s Nike Zoom Drive, the number N3546 is printed on the medial side -- a nod to Steve Prefontaine’s fastest mile (3 minutes and 54.6 seconds) and Nike’s rich history in running. Finally, the tapered heel and exposed TPU plate on the midsole are details reminiscent of the groundbreaking Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%.
Look for the EXP-X14 to launch June 28th via SNEAKRS in Europe. A July 5th launch date is set for North America through Nike SNKRS app and Greater China via nike.com and select retailers.
