Nike's Zoom Vaporfly 4%, made in conjunction with the brand's Breaking2 program to achieve a sub-two hour marathon time, is set to launch with a breathable Flyknit upper. The performance technology embedded in the tooling is unchanged. There's Nike ZoomX foam cushioning, capable of up to 85-percent energy return, and a full-length curved carbon fiber plate for increased stiffness and a consequent sense of propulsion. They act in tandem to deliver a 4-percent improvement in running economy, as compared to Nike’s previous fastest marathon shoe.
The Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4% Flyknit will be available in North America starting October 4th at nike.com, select Nike Doors and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Expo.
