According to Jason Petrie, the Nike designer behind the upcoming LeBron 16, the breakthrough component of the new model is its knit construction. James' 16th signature shoe is built with Battleknit 2.0, an evolved iteration of the scalloped knit found on the LeBron 15, now featuring increased tensile strength and a more refined finish. The material is used on a silhouette carrying a lower collar, allowing for enhanced movement, alongside a gusseted leather tongue for seamless entry. Underfoot is a slightly revised take on the Max Air cushioning system from the LeBron 15.
