Nike has unveiled Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Paul George's third signature sneaker, the PG3. Working alongside Nike Basketball Footwear Designer Tony Hardman, the duo implemented three core design principles: weight, traction and fit.

PG wanted the shoe to be lighter, faster and softer while having better grip in both directions and being sleek and seamless. The new design caters to all of these asks from the All-Star player who's game depends on constant movement around the court.

Staying true to his roots, the initial offering of the PG3 comes in a "NASA" colorway which is a nod to George's hometown of Palmdale, the site of a NASA research center. The detailing on the shoes includes the quote "Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon," an Apollo program and NASA patch on the rear heels, USA flags on the tongue, and various personal details on the circular outsole traction pattern like PG's birthday, the various numbers he's worn in the NBA and the number of tattoos he has.

The limited edition PG3 "NASA" will release on January 26 for $120 alongside a clothing collection on nike.com and select retailers.
