Nike has officially announced the launch colorways for its brand new Air Max 720 sneaker. Featuring the tallest Air unit in Nike's history, the initial colorways focus on design materials and color aesthetics over branding.
Courtney Dailey, the VP of Color Design stated that, "color needs to strike a balance between amplifying the tech and making its own statement." Many themes intertwined with nature will be part of the initial release including the Northern Lights (Day/Night), Sunrise and Sunset, as well as "Total Eclipse," "Sea Forest," "Pink Sea," and "Desert."
In terms of the design, Air Max fans will notice elements from the Air Max 97, Air Max 98 and Air Max Plus are subtly incorporated. With a retail price of $180, the Air Max 720 "Northern Lights" will release first on February 1 at select Nike stores, on the SNKRS and SNEAKRS apps and at select global retailers. On February 21, Nike+ members will be able to purchase the "Sunrise" and "Sunset" colorways. The rest of the colorways will release on February 28 on nike.com and at select stores.
