The trend for mini gaming systems is in full swing after Nintendo brought back the NES in miniature form back in 2016 and Sony did the same for the PlayStation Classic at the end of last year. Now, Sega has announced the release date for its Genesis Mini for the U.S. and Mega Drive Mini for Japan.

Set to drop on September 19, the compacted version of the cult consoles will feature 40 games including Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania Bloodlines, Space Harrier II, Comix Zone, Altered Beast and more. The Genesis Mini will come with two 3-button control pads and retail for $79.99 while the Mega Drive is priced for 1 (~$63) or 2 controllers (~$81) and includes the 6-button control pad.

Pre-order links will be available soon and we'll keep you posted.
