French pastry chef Cedric Grolet is world renown for his selection of sweets shaped immaculately like fruits and is the reigning World's Best Pastry Chef. Fellow chef and countryman Dominique Ansel held that acclaimed title the year before and is famous in his own right for the Cronut.
The two will be teaming up together this weekend as Grolet will bring three of his famous fruit desserts to Ansel's bakery location in SoHo. Fans will be treated to La Fraise (a strawberry-shaped dessert with strawberry ganache, fresh strawberries and strawberry compote), Le Citron (a yellow lemon-shaped dessert with yuzu ganache, lemon marmalade and candied lemon peel) and La Noisette (a hazelnut-shaped dessert with hazelnut ganache, caramel, hazelnut praline, hazelnut biscuit and gold leaf).
Lines will surely be long between April 5 to April 7. Doors will open at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 9 a.m. on Sunday so be sure to arrive early.
