adidas Originals has tapped in with BED j.w. FORD for a sneaker collaboration.

Founded in 2010 by designer Shinpei Yamagishi, the Japanese brand mixes in the aesthetics of those that inspire him (mainly Y-3 and Yohji Yamamoto) and the belief that "I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul."

The collaborative effort between the two brands features a cut-and-paste style on apparel and sneakers. Yamagishi says, "I think one of the most important factors of collaborations is for each brand to be able to still express their individual concept. We tried to maintain our brand’s style and express adidas’ characteristics at the same level, very carefully." This can be clearly seen with the mix between street and sportswear done on the jackets, jerseys and pants and with the added "Tokyo Culture Native" slogan. On the footwear side, the chosen silhouettes are the Kamanda, Crazy BYW and Korsika. All three feature a black palette with reflective detailing.

The entire collection is available starting September 20. In related news, the adidas Originals Torsion X releases this weekend.
