SOUTH2 WEST8, a sub-brand of Nepenthes, was founded in 2002 by Kaname Nagaoka and draws most of its inspiration from Tenkara fly fishing. The style is practiced predominantly in Japan in areas with mountain streams.

For Spring/Summer 2020, the brand has taken their fishing-inspired garments out of their natural mountain environment into the desert. However, the various camo and print patterns still adorn the apparel pieces and the parka and jacket still reflect functionality while lighter pieces like shorts, track pants and button down shirts reflect the more relaxed environment and leisure feel.

Check out the lookbook below and expect pieces to start dropping soon. Learn more about the brand at Also be sure to check out affiliate brand AïE's Spring/Summer 2020 lookbook.
