Focusing on control, a huge part of PG's game, designer Tony Hardman and PG created the new PG4 with the help of an all-new Air Strobel unit. This full length Nike Air unit is sewn onto the upper so that the foot is directly atop the cushioning. This dot-welded Nike Air bag replaces the traditional strobel and eliminates the delay between the foot and hardwood. This allows a player to have the responsiveness they need in the forefoot but also the stability in the heel.
The new PG4 also features a semi-transparent, mesh-zippering shroud inspired by the Air Flight '98, a first in the line. Underneath, a speed-lacing system can be worn over or under the shroud. An initial black and white colorway of the sneaker will release first. China launches the sneaker on January 8 while a global release is scheduled for January 24.
For a similar colorway on a basketball sneaker, fans can purchase the Air Jordan 13 "Black/Gym Red" this weekend.
