Designer Terry Shin founded BLACKMERLE back in 2016 and its "more is more" approach is apparent throughout his new Fall/Winter 2020 collection A.C. 006.

Merle is a dog coated with irregular streaks and speckles and Shin added the black in front of the word to create the brand, which he believes reflected his inner self at the time. If you head to the company's website, the about page simply has a definition of the word and the following message, "TRANSFORMABLE ELEMENTS THAT ALLOW GARMENTS TO EXIST IN MULTIPLE FORMS."

This design approach is the basis for all of BLACKMERLE's collections and this season is no different. Detachable and interchangeable sleeves and pant legs, jackets that turn into vests, kilts, pockets, bibs, trousers, Shin has thought of them all and their ability to be transformed. This A.C. 006 collection also features pieces that are able to connect and join with pieces from the previous A.C. 005 collection. You can also the influence of the dog coat patterns in the material choice and with the grey hues and various blacks chosen for the pieces. With this approach, look for BLACKMERLE to continue to push the future of design.
