The Year of the Rat is the first year in the Chinese Zodiac and thus marks new beginnings. To celebrate the occasion, UGG has introduced its new 12x12 initiative which will present a new sneaker concept every month for the entire year. The CA805 sneaker is the silhouette of choice and to kick off the program, the brand will release the CA805 x 2020 Sneaker.

Inspired by the rat, the sneaker features exposed faux fur and a cheese wedge lacelock. Due to the sneaker's popularity in Japan, atmos and select retailers will release the product on January 17 for $180.

Hommyo Hidefumi, founder and owner of atmos had this to say, "atmos launched the UGG CA805 Sneaker collection last year and saw a great response from our customers and press. The new 12x12 Collection allows our brand to continue telling monthly UGG sneaker stories with interesting details and compelling narratives."

February will see a Valentine's Day themed version of the sneaker while March will feature a Yosemite Park-inspired cedar version. The following releases will all take place mid-month at atmos and select retailers as well. Last year, UGG collaborated with BAPE for a collection that featured Lil Wayne.
