Converse has officially unveiled its new CX lineup.
The CX naming is derived from the brand's origins, first introduced in 1915 when Marquis Converse was experimenting with rubber products and gave the premium line "triple tread" technology denoted by a "CX" logo. In the "modern toolkit of materials," Converse CX introduces stretch canvas, new foam that pairs a single-density PU insole and lightweight phylon midsole, and a new rubber outsole design.
Brandis Russell, VP Global Footwear at Converse had this to say about the announcement:
“CX allows Converse to create more functional, stylish and comfortable footwear than ever before. In time, we plan to integrate its elements into every footwear product we make.”
Three sneaker silhouettes will feature the new CX makeover, the All Star Disrupt CX, Chuck Taylor Disrupt CX and Chuck Taylor All Star CX. We've already previewed the first collaborative effort alongside TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. on the All Star Disrupt CX which will release tomorrow. All three silhouettes will be introduced to the public on March 19 with more monotone and familiar colorways.
Release Date: 3/19/20 (Thursday)
