KAWS has taken his beloved Companion across the world with his "KAWS:HOLIDAY" exhibits. Now the artist is giving fans a new and more tech-oriented way to interact with his art via Acute Art's augmented reality (AR) app.
Starting today, 12 cities across the world will be able to view EXPANDED HOLIDAY through the app. The virtual Companion statues will be available to view until March 26. KAWS will also be 25 AR sculptures (1.8m) for $10,000 USD each through the Acute Art app that will allow the user to document where they go with it and resell it if they want. An open edition sale will occur afterwards for $6.99 USD with the user being able to keep the virtual piece for 24 hours.
