Ferrari has joined its Italian counterpart Lamborghini in the fight against COVID-19 by shifting its factory in Maranello from producing car prototypes to respiratory valves and mask fittings.

The brand made the announcement yesterday saying that the thermoplastic components will be created here with additive manufacturing technology. Logistics for the project were handled by Nuovamacut Gruppo TeamSystem and some valves were developed by Mares, a diving equipment manufacturer while Solid Energy contributed fittings.

Ferrari will be donating the equipment to help in local Italian hospitals in the areas of Bergamo, Genoa, Modena, Sassuolo and Medicina. The fight against COVID-19 has everyone around the world scrambling to do what they can, earlier this week, Fanatics launched a fan experience and auction digital initiative called "All In Challenge" to raise funds for food charities.
